Mennonite Church USA Archives- Goshen, Indiana

When I first visited the Mennonite Church USA Archives in Goshen, Indiana, I was quite impressed with how easy it was to access the holdings. After signing in at the office and stating my research objectives, I was shown how to request materials. I was able to set up my computer and scanner at a table in the small workroom and sort through the boxes of papers I had identified as interesting. Each time I have returned to the archives, I have found the archivist Dennis Stoesz and other staff members to be quite helpful.

Read the archive's policy on "Access and Reproduction of Archival Materials" and see a guide to the collections at the Mennonite Church USA Historical Committee's web site, www.mcusa-archives.org.

One extremely helpful service that has been and continues to be provided by volunteers is the transcription of published Mennonite and Amish obituaries. These are available at the web site www.mcusa-archives.org/MennObits/index.html.

The archives are located on the campus of Goshen College, at 1700 S. Main St., Goshen, Indiana 46526.
